YouTuber MrBeast, in a post, revealed getting diagnosed with an eye disease called Astigmatism.

Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast on YouTube, is a multifaceted individual—part influencer, part philanthropist, and much more. From performing unique stunts to hosting wild and over-the-top challenges, giveaways, and charities, among other things, MrBeast has millions of subscribers. Talking about his philanthropic side, the YouTube star once financed 1000 people for their cataract removal who were blind or near-blind but couldn’t afford the surgery themselves. He also shared the video on his channel, showing the cataract patients with clear vision after a successful surgery.

After a year, MrBeast has now revealed that he suffers from astigmatism, an eye defect that causes vision to get blurry. Taking to his X handle, he mentioned that his vision got “super blurry,” due to which he had to squint to see properly. Upon checking with the doctor, the YouTuber was diagnosed with astigmatism.

“This might sound crazy, but I thought things far away looking super blurry was normal lol. I got my eyes checked and apparently have a bad stigmatism. Started wearing contacts recently and wow. My eyesight is 3x better and i dont squint/can actually open my eyes normally,” he wrote in a post shared on 2 February.

Along with the post, MrBeast also shared the video link to the philanthropic act from the year and quipped, “I should have helped myself in this video.” The video titled “1,000 Blind People See For The First Time” was shared back in January 2023 and has so far gained around 170 million views on YouTube. While the video shows Donaldson helping the cataract patients, it also shows him surprising some with Rs 10,000, gifting a Tesla, and also making a donation of Rs 1,00,000 for similar surgeries across the globe in countries like Mexico, Vietnam, Brazil, Namibia, and Indonesia.

Internet reacts to MrBeast’s ‘blurry vision’ post

As soon as the video was shared, many took to the comment section and shared their reactions. Some of the reactions are hilarious enough to leave you in splits. A user wrote, “If you only you picked yourself as one of the 1000 blind people you helped,” while another one commented, “Damn the best content creator in the world has been blind this entire time. What’s my excuse?”

“A beast has to protect his eyes! We can fly out some frames for you so you can get the best screen protection around,” a third one commented.
