Rajasthan woman compares AC 3-tier coach of Chetak Express to General coach due to excessive crowd, Railways respond to viral post.
The chaos of overcrowded Indian trains has been a hot topic for a while now. From passengers resorting to travelling in toilets due to jam-packed coaches to others struggling to secure their confirmed seats, the reality is harsh. Recently, a woman named Nilisha Mantri stepped up with a striking photo, revealing the shocking scene inside an extremely overcrowded AC coach. It resembled more of a cramped general or sleeper coach than a comfortable AC compartment.
Nilisha recounted her ordeal while travelling on the Chetak Express, which shuttles between Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Udaipur. Despite booking a 3-Tier AC ticket, she found herself in a situation akin to General Class, where luxury takes a backseat. “This is the condition of 3rd tier AC in Chetak Express 20473 @RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw railways have become a joke why we are even paying for AC if we have to suffer like general class??” she lamented alongside the photo, depicting passengers squeezed onto seats and even standing in the aisles.

And to add to the chaos, there was even a man sleeping precariously with his hand as a support.
The post quickly caught fire, sparking a flurry of comments from the public. Some questioned if it was indeed an AC coach, citing the presence of a fan in the photo. However, Nilisha silenced the doubts by sharing an image of the large window of her AC coach as proof.
Comments poured in, reflecting the frustration of passengers. “Ajkal haalat ye ho gayi hai, it should no longer be called AC three tier, it’s third class AC.Fir second class AC aur jiska ek hi dabba ho ya ho hi na, wo first class AC,” remarked one user. Another shared, “The condition of stations became so worse in india that we even failed to enter even the train after buying a tier 1 ac ticket!!”
“Earlier, sleeper class was in such a worst situation, now AC is also in the same bad condition,” added a third voice.
