The wax statue will reportedly be installed on World Heritage Day on April 18.

Jaipur Wax Museum, in a bid to celebrate Virat Kohli, decided to build a statue of the Indian cricket stalwart. But the newly unveiled statue has managed to attract some hilarious reactions due to its comical resemblance to the cricketer. The new wax statue will reportedly be installed on World Heritage Day on April 18. Following the news, a collage of the statue went viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). “Virat Kohli’s Statue at Jaipur Wax Museum! The statue will be installed on April 18, the face of cricket,” read the caption of the now-viral post. The post has generated a buzz among fans.

Several people pointed at the statue’s resemblance with Virat Kohli. One of them jokingly asked if the wax piece was ordered from an online shopping platform.

Another suggested that the figure looked like a mixed version of Dinesh Karthik and Kohli. “DK+Kohli”, he wrote.

A person compared the wax statue with Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq.

“This looks like Virat Kohli’s doppelganger’s wax statue” was the sentiment on social media.

“Characters designed in SmackDown vs Raw on PS2”, he wrote.

“Okay, now show Virat’s statue please”, cheekily wrote a comment.

While Virat Kohli’s wax statue continues to steal headlines, his team is currently enduring a difficult phase in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Under the leadership of Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have lost five of the six matches they have played so far. They are currently on a four-match losing streak with their last defeat coming against the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians. The two IPL franchises clashed at the Wankhede Stadium on April 11. With two points from six games, Royal Challengers Bengaluru are currently struggling at the bottom of the IPL 2024 standings. In their next IPL 2024 fixture, the Bengaluru-based franchise will be up against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, April 15.
