The Flash Star Ezra Miller’s Superhero Days Are Officially Over After New Update

Ezra Miller, who previously played Barry Allen in The Flash, lost another superhero role over the Easter holiday weekend.

In a behind-the-scenes change during the news dump before the holiday, Prime Video’s animated series Invincible has replaced Ezra Miller as the voice actor for the character D.A. Sinclair. Miller had previously lent their voice to portray Sinclair in a single episode during the show’s first season.

D.A. Sinclair, the mad scientist from Season 1 who kills humans and turns them into robots, appeared in a nightmare sequence in Invincible Season 2. Ezra Miller, who originally voiced Sinclair, did not return for this role. Instead, Eric Bauza (X-Men ’97) provided the voice for Sinclair in the nightmare sequence.

The news comes as no surprise as Ezra Miller has faced mounting legal troubles over the past two years. In May 2022, video showed them unlawfully entering Isaac Winokur’s home. Also, Miller was arrested not once, but twice in Hawaii in 2022. One arrest was for assaulting a woman. The other arrest was for disorderly conduct and harassment at a karaoke bar, where authorities stated Miller yelled obscenities after becoming agitated by the karaoke singing.

Previously in 2020, Ezra Miller was criticized for a viral video that appeared to show the actor choking a woman and throwing her to the ground. The incident took place outside a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland. Miller was escorted from the premises but the woman did not file charges against the actor.

Along with losing the role in Invincible, it should come as no surprise that Ezra Miller won’t be playing Barry Allen in the new DC Universe from DC Studios. There has been speculation that Arrowverse actor and fan favorite Grant Gustin could possibly reappear as the Flash in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted DC Universe.

James Gunn recently said that he would “love to work with” Gustin, as he’s an “incredibly talented guy.”
