Key ‘X-Men’ Villain Actor Speaks On Potential MCU Return

The X-Men are finally making their way into the MCU! An actor for one of the franchise’s most iconic villains speaks on his potential return to the Marvel role.

Now that Marvel finally has the rights to use the X-Men in the MCU, it seems their first order of business is to bring back as many iconic faces as possible. Deadpool 3 and X-Men ’97 alone stand as some of the biggest reunions in the comic space. However, it seems another villain might make their return, as Aaron Stanford said he’d “consider” returning as Pyro.

“I’d have to think about it.” Stanford told The Direct. “You know, it’s a character that, I’ve been there and done that. I quite enjoyed it. And I still have many, many fond memories and a lot of lasting friendships from those experiences… I don’t know, man. It’s an intriguing question. I would have to consider it.”

While Pyro has never been the biggest name in Marvel comics, he’s been one of the longest recurring X-Men villains, appearing in over a thousand issues and dozens of adaptations. While it’s not likely Aaron Stanford would be playing a main role in any MCU adaptation, it could be a treat for some fans to see him make a multiversal cameo somewhere like Deadpool 3.

Who else is attached to the Deadpool threequel?

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 after working with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The upcoming Marvel Studios project also marks a reunion between Levy and Hugh Jackman as the two worked together on Real Steel.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are developing the Deadpool 3 script after penning the first two installments in the series. The Molyneux sisters worked on a previous draft of the project.

Deadpool 3 is currently expected to be released on July 26, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
