Deadpool & Wolverine doesn’t just have cameos for no reason! A new rumor suggests the film will feature a new X-Men team filled with resistance fighters.
Rumors about fantastical cameos have been circulating ever since Deadpool & Wolverine was announced. Everyone from Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, to Dafne Keen’s X-23, and even Channing Tatum’s Gambit are said to appear in the film. Yet the film’s newest rumor now seeks to explain how all these characters make sense in the film.
According to a new rumor from scooper MyTimeToShineHello, all three of the above characters will join together in a new team of rebels assembled to take on Cassandra Nova. This gathering of X-Men suggests that Elektra, X-23, and Gambit were all victims of Nova, having their worlds destroyed by her army of villains seen in the latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine.
The Many Cameos Of Deadpool & Wolverine
This rumored mutant resistance isn’t the only X-Men team seemingly set to return in Deadpool & Wolverine. Last year a rumor began to circulate that key actors from the early 2000s X-Men films, such as James Marsden and Halle Berry, would reprise their roles in the upcoming film. It’s currently unclear if these appearances will be anything beyond cameos, however.
X-Men actors aren’t the only ones making cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine. The most highly-publicized rumor about the project suggests that Taylor Swift will appear in the film. While many fans speculate she may play the mutant Dazzler or Lady Deadpool, all signs seem to point to the pop sensation appearing as herself in the project.
