The MonsterVerse has always been known for its massive Kaiju brawls, existing in the same spirit as the old Godzilla Vs. movies from back in the day. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire seems ready to elevate that action to a whole new level, with its newest trailer teasing a war between man and monster that only King Kong and Godzilla can stop.
While Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire has been criticized for not being as serious as other entries in the MonsterVerse like Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, both Godzilla and King Kong have always straddled the line between tragic monsters and action stars. It’s always important to keep a balance, and this newest trailer proves just how sweat it is watching kaijus beat the tar out of each other!
The return of the MonsterVerse franchise
Fans of the MonsterVerse are sure to be excited by the prospect of seeing these two iconic monsters teaming up once again. Legendary’s MonsterVerse began with 2014’s Godzilla and has since grown to include Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Godzilla vs. Kong. At the heart of the franchise has been the secret monster-hunting organization Monarch.

Director Adam Wingard is back for the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel, with a star-studded cast that includes Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, Dan Stevens and Fala Chen. Terry Rossio, Jeremy Slater, Simon Barrett wrote the script.
