Sean Gunn Confirms Release Window For DC Universe Animated Series

It seems Creature Commandos has finally landed a release window! Weasel actor Sean Gunn confirms when the first animated series in the new DC Universe will be released on Max.

While 2024 is set to be a rather sparse year for releases due to last year’s Hollywood strikes, it seems as though fans of the new DC Universe won’t be completely starved for content. Sean Gunn, who plays Weasel and G.I. Robot in the series, recently made an appearance at the Saturn Awards. While speaking to ScreenRant, the actor confirmed the show is set to drop this Fall.

“We have Creature Commandos coming out in the fall,” Gunn revealed during the interview. “Which is amazing, I just can’t wait for our audience to see [it.]”

Creature Commandos is certainly shaping up to be one of the most anticipated projects in the DC Universe. Not only is it the first animated series directly connected to DC films, but Sean Gunn’s Weasel is far from the only exciting cast member. Between Anya Chalotra as Circe and David Harbour as Frankenstein, fans are certainly in for one amazing ride!

Get Ready For A Weird War!

Creature Commandos is an upcoming animated series set to debut in Fall 2024 for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s brand-new DC Universe. The show is set to feature the return of Sean Gunn’s Weasel from The Suicide Squad as Amanda Waller seeks to build a militia of monsters and outcasts. All 7 episodes for the show’s first season were written by Gunn.

Joining Sean Gunn’s Weasel in Creature Commandos is Frank Grillo as Rick Flagg Sr., the father of Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flagg, as well as Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma as The Bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, and David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein. Sean Gunn will also be taking on the role of G.I. Robot in the series and will be joined by fellow The Suicide Squad alum Steve Agee, who is set to return as John Economos.
